Swimming
Swimming lessons were introduced in 2008 and have become an annual fixture since. This year each class has 6 sessions in the Gleneagle’s Aquila Club on a Friday. Each group that visit the Aquila Club are divided according to ability in order to ensure that they all get appropriate attention.
GAA
All classes participate in football coaching during the school week. These sessions are conducted by the East Kerry GAA Development Officer (Vince Cooper). Training for the school team takes place on a Thursday afternoon immediately after school and lasts for approximately one hour. The boys participate in various competitions during the year but for the boys the School League remains pride of place. Mr O’ Riordan is our team manager and he is ably assisted by Mr O’ Suillebháin and Mr Garnett.

Basketball
Boys from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th are given the opportunity to attend basketball coaching on a Wednesday afternoon immediately after school. These sessions are conducted by Andrew Fitzgerald in the adjacent Community College. The school team participate in the town league in March/April of each year under the stewardship of Mrs Lacey.
Soccer
In 2009/’10, boys from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th received soccer coaching. An F.A.I. coach conducted these sessions during school time over a period of approximately 14 weeks. Boys from different classes participate in various competitions throughout the year.
Rugby
Rugby coaching takes place in the school for all classes from September to May. Ray, our Munster coaching officer comes in to teach the boys all they need to know.
